We were returning from St Andrews and wanted a cozy meal, so we came a cross Manchurian. It was late evening on a Tuesday, so there were only two other tables in the restaurant. They have a dim sum menu and a "regular" Chinese food menu. We tried both and were pleasantly surprised with great food and flavors. The portions were decent and you could tell about the quality of the ingredients. Top notch. Service was fantastic and the owner super friendly. Next time we are in town we will visit again.

I returned to Manchurian, we were hungry and despite the fact that I found it mediocre on my first visit, I look at it as the best of a bad lot. When you arrive they give you two menus and a wine list. One menu is photos of the dimsum, the other has a list of standard Chinese dishes. Don't let this fool you, flip the menu over on the back is a different menu with chinese and English descriptions. Use that menu, you won;t be disappointed. They have some Szechuan dishes and I picked the Szechuan fish stew. Perfect!, with enough Szechuan peppers to numb the tongue. This is a Chinese restaurant that has food that Asians eat, judging by the ckientelle I saw on my last visit. The wine list is good too.

This places is connected to the asian grocery store Matthews. Delicious Chinese food! Modern and traditional menus available. Fast, clean, friendly , filling . A bit more then I'd like to pay for Chinese but worth it and way better then a take away.

I have been shopping at Matthews Asian grocers for about 10 years now. But only recently have I discovered that they have a restaurant attached. In fact, it's a really good one. Manchurian offers both traditional and "modern" Chinese food. This means if you want your deep fried meats in sugary sauce, then you got it. And if you want to try something more authentic and unlike your typical Scottish Chinese takeaway, then you got that too. The staff here are very helpful. They patiently guided us through our questions regarding the traditional menu, and helped us pick just what we were wanting... which was roasted duck. And WOW... what a roasted duck! We got the half duck. It comes in a sauce which I wish I could've drunk a whole bottle of... so good. We also ordered a chicken chow mein with some dim sum on the side. The chicken buns were really tasty. And I would absolutely recommend getting the sponge cake... it was excellent. If you're going for some chinese in Dundee, don't waste your time on a subpar buffet... get down to Manchurian and have something a little more authentic. You won't regret it.

I was visiting the Big Sis & Bro-in law at the weekend and they had heard good things about this new Restaurant This is Dundee's first Dim Sum Restaurant. An exciting new addition to the Manchurian family, this family-run restaurant will give you the ultimate dining experience. This is Dundee's first Dim Sum Restaurant, and they did not disappoint. My Big Sis chose King Prawn Dumplings from the Dim Sum menu for starters and Roast Duck with pineapple for mains , UG and I were not so adventures we opted for a set menu meal, Combination Starter & Aromatic Duck for starter,Chicken Satay,Shredded Crispy Chilli Beef,Sweet & SourKing Prawn,Yeung Chow Fried Rice & Noodles. We all had some Chinese Tsingtao beer to wash this down with, very nice indeed. Everything was served hot, and was very tasty and portion sizes generous, so much so that Jet had a nice breakfast on Sunday as a wee treat. The decor is very tasteful, very welcoming & attentive staff, dont be put off with the Restauarant being upstairs if you have any mobility issues they have a disabled lift and excellent toilet facilities. We will definitly be back.
